Welcome back to the World of Twelve Dofus players! You might notice a few changes in your absense. For starters, the world kind of drowned and survives on islands now. Oh, and you’re completely on your own. The Gods and most NPC have forsaken you. Have fun!
But seriously, there have been a lot of changes and overall game evolution since Dofus days. Below you’ll find a list of a few of the noticeable differences, to help you from making assumptions and going down the wrong path. Fair warning: It is sloppy, but hopefully it can help you at least a little bit. There are a lot of changes to the game compared to Dofus, not just the name. This is just a short list to get you started.

PVS Software: C3, the Vent killer?
| March 27, 2012 | Posted by Jeff under Gaming General |
For years now when gamers think of voice communication with other players there has been one name to rule them all: Ventrilo. Vent has been the king so long because of a few reasons:
1) It’s small, quick and flexible.
2) It’s free (at least for the end-user)
3) Everybody else uses it.
The last one is likely the biggest reason. Everybody who has ever played an MMO or any big game that needs coordination has used Vent at some point or at least heard of it. There has been a few names out there that has tried to take part of the market such as Mumble, TeamSpeak and (to a lesser extent) Skype.
Today though there is a new challenger: C3.

PVS Wakfu: A Water Sadida Guide for Beginners
| March 26, 2012 | Posted by Jeff under Wakfu General |

If you’re completely new to Wakfu, be sure to check out the Player VS Wakfu: Introductory Guide!
Today we’re looking at Water Sadida, also going to be the HP Sadida. Our goal today is to make a Sadi that’s great at summoning, and keeping those summons alive. Unlike Sadi in Dofus, we don’t have abnormally strong direct-damage skills. Dolls (summons) will be our primary attack skills, much like Osamondas were from Dofus.
PVS MMO: A Quick Look at Atlantica Online
| March 22, 2012 | Posted by Jeff under MMO General |
Today we’re taking a look at Nexon’s Atlantica Online. Now I did try this years ago when it was still in Alpha testing, and saw then that it had potential. However, at the time I also said it needed a ton of work in order to be able to hold water. Today we’re starting fresh, to see how it holds up to today’s standards.
Initial Impression: “Wow, this doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would.”

PVS WoW: Cataclysm Expansion Post-Mortem
| March 19, 2012 | Posted by Jeff under World of Warcraft |
With Blizzard having completed their World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion pack, and well on the way to releasing their next expansion Mists of Pandaria; It’s a good time to review the completed expansion’s good points and points that could use improvement. Let’s get started.
1) Looking for Raid: This was a really good idea. With Blizzard’s market the way it is and their lack of attraction for new hardcore gamers, they really need to reach out to those casual gamers. I think the Looking for Raid (LFR) feature was a good idea. Most casual players that I know personally have never been into a raid prior to Cataclysm. Those who had been, usually sucked and didn’t get far. This was a great way for those newer players to get some experience in a raid environment without all the stress that comes with hardcore raiding. To be frank, the difficulty of LFR was ridiculously easy and most mechanics could simply be ignored. I think the idea of LFR was simply to get people in, then once the foot is in the door hope they want to go on to normal/heroic raiding after. My only beef is with the gear: It shouldn’t have been as good as it was. For what little work people did for it, it should have been on par (or lower) than 5 man heroics.

PVS SWTOR: Why I Want To Love SWTOR, But Just Can’t
| March 15, 2012 | Posted by Jeff under Star Wars: The Old Republic General |
Let me preface this by saying I really wanted to love Star Wars: The Old Republic. Honestly, I gave up my consistent weekly raiding group on Warcraft in hopes I’d find my new place in a Galaxy Far Far Away. This was supposed to be my own personal ‘WoW Killer’. Unfortunately as entertaining it was for the first month, I wasn’t able to find that. There are amazing elements to SWTOR, but it’s not enough to keep its subscribers. I don’t think this is just me either, as they’re not keeping people with end-game exceptions according to most sources.
